| This
curriculum strives to show students how the lessons they learn in
school have practical uses in the real world. In these lesson plans,
students play the role of entrepreneurs and companies–creating
and selling products as they learn their academic subjects. NJPRO
believes that these lessons will help provide students with the
problem-solving skills that their future employers will value. The
Foundation also believes that students will learn better when information
is presented in a meaningful context and used to accomplish a specific
goal.
This curriculum
offers a wealth of opportunities for parents to get more involved
in educating their children in an engaging, productive way. Parents
could:
• Read
the “New Jersey Entrepreneur Spotlight” with your
children and discuss what your child wants to be when they grow
up.
• Explore the Internet with your children by visiting the
links listed in the curriculum, where you can play interactive
games and learn about business together.
• Volunteer to visit your child’s classroom and help
teach these lessons.
Parents can
access the student page of this Web
site to see the individual worksheets and links that their children
may be using.
Parents can
access the business page of this
Web site to see the stories of real business people and how education
relates to business.
